Our Philosophy
We believe that excellence in nursing care is best achieved through a patient centered approach which recognizes the importance of the nurse - patient relationship and encourages the involvement of the patient and his family in the creation of a healing environment.
We believe in the concept of Patient Care Management which places the professional nurse at the center of the health care team with the autonomy and authority to enable and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care. We accept that nurses are in a unique position to advocate for the rights of their patients and view this as one of our primary responsibilities.
We believe that independence in clinical decision making is accompanied by a corresponding requirement for accountability and accept that patient outcomes are a valid measurement of the effectiveness of patient care.
We believe in the concept of life long learning and acknowledge that education based on nursing research and the expansion of professional and clinical knowledge, whether directed to the community, to patients and their families, or to staff, is integral to our commitment to excellence.
